In order to use the moderncsv template, you need to install the extras package

sudo apt install texlive-latex-base texlive-latex-extra texlive-latex-recommended

Mac

Download BasicTeX.pkg https://tug.org/mactex/morepackages.html

To install moderncv sudo tlmgr install moderncv
